How my newfound passion for country music turned into a business.

My love for country music came a little later in life. Although I had the influence of country around as a teenager, with the exception of a few legends like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, I never really took to it.
I has always been deeply moved by music and place a lot of importance on the role music plays in my life. From a little girl twirling in my princess dress to my parent's Jim Croce album, to hand selecting the absolute best music for my aerobics class routines, and drivin' with the windows down with nowhere in particular to go, just so I could listen to whatever my mood dictated... music has always been a large part of my life. But in 2018, I noticed the music I had been listening to the most was not connecting the way it had up to then.
2018-2019 was a time of many challenges. Personal growth became a mission. Suddenly I found myself flipping the radio stations to new country music. I was connecting to the music and especially the lyrics in a way I hadn't before. Now, it's what I listen to almost all of the time. It is what moves me, makes me feel connected to something, reflects American values, and somehow ties in with my love of the mountains.
I would find myself singing the melodies over and over and would hear a phrase and jot it down in my notes right away. It is the connection to the lyrics that gave me the idea to print them on a favorite tee or sweatshirt. That feeling you get when you put on that soft fabric and express yourself in words.
Best part is you don't have to love country music to relate to the lyrics and phrases. See what I mean?
The sass part? Well, she has been know to be called a bit sassy and when she slips into those faded jeans and cranks the country music up, she does get just a bit more sassy.
If you have a personal story about your love for country music and what it means to you, or any other type of music, I'd love to hear it. Just log in and comment or send us an email.
What's your song?
Best,
